Les chercheurs des h\u00f4pitaux universitaires Radboud UMC et Maastricht UMC+ ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un outil en ligne en collaboration avec Thuisarts. Intitul\u00e9 \u00ab Voulez-vous enqu\u00eater sur la d\u00e9mence ? \u00bb, il est destin\u00e9 aux personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es souffrant de probl\u00e8mes de m\u00e9moire et qui s'inqui\u00e8tent de d\u00e9velopper une d\u00e9mence. Il ne s'agit pas de diagnostiquer cette maladie, mais plut\u00f4t de sensibiliser et d\u2019encourager son d\u00e9pistage.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

L'aide \u00e0 la d\u00e9cision aiguille et encourage les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es ind\u00e9cises, ainsi que leur famille et leur m\u00e9decin traitant, \u00e0 diagnostiquer la d\u00e9mence. Le m\u00e9decin de famille joue un r\u00f4le important dans ce d\u00e9pistage. Il n'examine pas seulement les facteurs m\u00e9dicaux. Les pr\u00e9f\u00e9rences, les souhaits et les besoins du patient et de sa famille jouent \u00e9galement un r\u00f4le. Mais ces derniers ne sont pas toujours clairs. En outre, les attentes du patient influencent beaucoup la d\u00e9cision de faire un diagnostic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thuisarts<\/a> indique qu'il peut arriver que les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es ne soient pas dispos\u00e9es \u00e0 se rendre chez un g\u00e9n\u00e9raliste, alors que l'aide \u00e0 la d\u00e9cision le recommande. Lorsque les proches pensent qu'il est judicieux de faire examiner la m\u00e9moire, ils peuvent utiliser des conseils sp\u00e9cifiques via dementie.nl,<\/a> une plateforme d'Alzheimer Nederland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thuisarts vous propose d'enqu\u00eater <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es ayant des probl\u00e8mes de m\u00e9moire peuvent prendre tout le temps n\u00e9cessaire pour remplir l'aide \u00e0 la d\u00e9cision. Thuisarts conseille de faire le test dans un endroit calme, sans distractions. Les r\u00e9ponses sont consultables en ligne et peuvent \u00e9galement \u00eatre imprim\u00e9es. En moyenne, le processus prend entre 10 et 15 minutes. Les donn\u00e9es de l'utilisateur ne sont pas stock\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L'aide \u00e0 la d\u00e9cision se compose de quatre \u00e9tapes contenant des informations sur tout ce qui concerne la perte de m\u00e9moire et la d\u00e9mence. La premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape couvre les raisons pour lesquelles la perte de m\u00e9moire survient \u00e0 un \u00e2ge avanc\u00e9. Elle explique comment reconna\u00eetre la d\u00e9mence, s'il existe des m\u00e9dicaments et quels sont les soins et l'aide disponibles. L'\u00e9tape 2 porte sur l'examen m\u00e9dical. Il explique comment va se d\u00e9rouler le diagnostic. Elle aborde aussi quels sont les r\u00e9sultats possibles et les cons\u00e9quences induites pour le patient et ses proches. L'\u00e9tape 3 concerne les avantages et les inconv\u00e9nients d'un examen de d\u00e9mence. Dans la derni\u00e8re \u00e9tape, l'utilisateur choisit deux fois une proposition, sur la base de deux options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le premier choix :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je veux conna\u00eetre la cause de mes plaintes le plus t\u00f4t possible.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je ne veux pas savoir (encore) si je suis atteint de d\u00e9mence ou si je suis sur le point de l'\u00eatre.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le deuxi\u00e8me choix :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je veux savoir si je suis atteint de d\u00e9mence afin de pouvoir recevoir des soins et de l'aide \u00e0 temps.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je ne veux pas (encore) savoir si je suis atteint de d\u00e9mence, car cela provoquerait trop de tension et d'anxi\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le point sur la d\u00e9mence<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

La d\u00e9mence est un terme m\u00e9dical regroupant plus de cinquante troubles. Le cerveau ne peut plus traiter correctement les informations et les capacit\u00e9s mentales sont r\u00e9duites. Alzheimer<\/a> est actuellement la maladie la plus courante (70 %). Environ 290 000 N\u00e9erlandais sont atteints de d\u00e9mence. Ce qui repr\u00e9sente cinq nouveaux patients par heure. Selon le CBS, c'est la cause de d\u00e9c\u00e8s qui conna\u00eet la plus forte croissance aux Pays-Bas. Les experts s'attendent \u00e0 ce qu'un demi-million de N\u00e9erlandais soient atteints de d\u00e9mence en 2040.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus de la moiti\u00e9 des accompagnants familiaux indiquent que le diagnostic a dur\u00e9 plus d'un an. Thuisarts pourrait donc acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer son d\u00e9pistage. De plus en plus de recherches se concentrent sur l'utilisation d'outils num\u00e9riques pour d\u00e9pister et traiter la d\u00e9mence.<\/a> Par exemple, une \u00e9tude belge ant\u00e9rieure a montr\u00e9 qu'une combinaison d'entra\u00eenement cognitif et d'entra\u00eenement au mouvement pouvait am\u00e9liorer les fonctions c\u00e9r\u00e9brales, la mobilit\u00e9 et les sympt\u00f4mes de la d\u00e9pression chez les personnes atteintes de d\u00e9mence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
