Les patients diab\u00e9tiques qui utilisent ce syst\u00e8me de surveillance continue (CGM) peuvent ainsi suivre leur glyc\u00e9mie en temps r\u00e9el pendant l'exercice. Pour l'instant, cette option n'est disponible qu'aux \u00c9tats-Unis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Garmin devient le premier \u00e0 int\u00e9grer les donn\u00e9es de diab\u00e8te Dexcom en temps r\u00e9el dans ses montres connect\u00e9es. Ainsi, les diab\u00e9tiques am\u00e9ricains peuvent d\u00e8s \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent t\u00e9l\u00e9charger une application depuis la boutique Connect IQ de Garmin. En quelque clic, leur syst\u00e8me CGM sera jumel\u00e9 \u00e0 leur smartwatch ou leur compteur de v\u00e9lo. Une avanc\u00e9e notable pour ces malades qui souhaitent rester actifs. Les variations de la glyc\u00e9mie restent tr\u00e8s importantes durant l\u2019effort. Les personnes souffrant de diab\u00e8te doivent donc surveiller en permanence leurs niveaux. Et durant la pratique physique tel que courir ou faire du v\u00e9lo, cela peut s\u2019av\u00e9rer difficile. Le syst\u00e8me propos\u00e9 par Garmin leur permettra de mieux stabiliser leur taux de glucose sanguin et \u00e9viter ainsi de graves complications.<\/p>\n<p>Au cours d\u2019une s\u00e9ance sportive, plusieurs facteurs vont influencer la glyc\u00e9mie. Tout d\u00e9pend du volume de glucides qu'un athl\u00e8te a consomm\u00e9 avant ou pendant le sport, de la dur\u00e9e de l'activit\u00e9 ou encore de son intensit\u00e9. Et gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce nouveau dispositif, les utilisateurs auront leurs donn\u00e9es en direct, d'un simple coup d'\u0153il sur leur smartwatch ou sur leur compteur \u00e0 v\u00e9lo. La tendance affich\u00e9e pour les trois derni\u00e8res heures indique si le niveau est en hausse ou en baisse. Outre ces informations, d'autres valeurs corporelles mesur\u00e9es, comme la saturation du sang, la respiration et la fr\u00e9quence cardiaque, sont \u00e9galement affich\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<h3>Qu'est-ce qu'un CGM ?<\/h3>\n<p>Dexcom propose un syst\u00e8me de surveillance du glucose (CGM) compos\u00e9 d'un capteur, d'un \u00e9metteur et d'une application. Les patients diab\u00e9tiques placent manuellement le capteur sous la peau. Pendant 10 jours, ce dernier mesure le taux de glucose dans le liquide interstitiel, qui se situe entre les cellules du tissu sous-cutan\u00e9. L'\u00e9metteur envoie automatiquement les valeurs corporelles toutes les cinq minutes par Bluetooth \u00e0 l'application t\u00e9l\u00e9charg\u00e9e sur un smartphone. Les utilisateurs peuvent ainsi suivre les fluctuations de leur glyc\u00e9mie. En cas d\u2019un taux trop \u00e9lev\u00e9 ou trop bas, l'application envoie des alertes. Elle est d\u2019ailleurs capable de d\u00e9celer 20 minutes \u00e0 l'avance une hypoglyc\u00e9mie. Avec Garmin, outre l\u2019application, les diab\u00e9tiques auront \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent toutes ces informations sur leur montre connect\u00e9e. En un regard, ils sauront o\u00f9 en est leur glyc\u00e9mie.<\/p>\n<p>En juillet dernier, Dexcom a re\u00e7u l'approbation de l'agence am\u00e9ricaine FDA pour partager son API avec des entreprises actives dans les soins de sant\u00e9 num\u00e9riques. \u00c0 l'\u00e9poque, Garmin et la plateforme de gestion de la sant\u00e9 Livongo \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ress\u00e9s. Dexcom affirme que leur syst\u00e8me donne plus de libert\u00e9 aux patients diab\u00e9tiques. Depuis mai dernier, l'entreprise coop\u00e8re \u00e9galement avec la start-up Lilly qui propose un stylo \u00e0 insuline intelligent avec le Tempo Pen. Ce dernier calcule et contr\u00f4le num\u00e9riquement l'utilisation de l'insuline.<\/p>\n<h3>Int\u00e9r\u00eat des medtechs pour le diab\u00e8te<\/h3>\n<p>Plus de 34 millions d'Am\u00e9ricains sont atteints de diab\u00e8te. Cela repr\u00e9sente un peu plus de 10 % de la population. Des chiffres sous-estim\u00e9s puisqu\u2019aux \u00c9tats-Unis, cette maladie chronique est difficilement diagnostiqu\u00e9e. Parmi ceux d\u00e9pist\u00e9s, neuf personnes sur dix souffrent de diab\u00e8te de type 2. Pour g\u00e9rer leur situation, les malades re\u00e7oivent des conseils alimentaires et physiques (parfois accompagn\u00e9s de m\u00e9dicaments). De nombreuses entreprises technologiques r\u00e9agissent \u00e0 cette situation et cherchent des solutions pour permettre aux malades de mieux g\u00e9rer et surveiller leur maladie.<\/p>\n<p>Garmin n'est pas le premier fournisseur de wearables \u00e0 afficher les mesures de glucose via un wearable. Depuis le d\u00e9but de l'ann\u00e9e, les utilisateurs de Fitbit peuvent partager leur glyc\u00e9mie via leur appareil OneTouch. Ici, les mesures ne sont pas faites automatiquement.
