La semaine derni\u00e8re, la revue scientifique <em>Nature Chemistry<\/em> a publi\u00e9 les r\u00e9sultats de leur recherche et l\u2019analyse de sa faisabilit\u00e9.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L'\u00e9quipe, compos\u00e9e d'ing\u00e9nieurs, de biochimistes et de sp\u00e9cialistes m\u00e9dicaux, a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une nouvelle m\u00e9thode de laboratoire : <em>Labs-On-Chips<\/em>. Une technologie novatrice permettant d'int\u00e9grer des tests de laboratoire sur une minuscule puce. La m\u00e9thode \u00e9labor\u00e9e est comparable au glucom\u00e8tre dont se servent les diab\u00e9tiques pour mesurer leur taux de glyc\u00e9mie. En effet, ils se piquent le doigt et analysent leur sang sur une bandelette de test fix\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019appareil.<\/p>\n<p>Pour <em>Labs-on-Chips<\/em>, les chercheurs de l'universit\u00e9 McMaster au Canada ont eu recours \u00e0 une m\u00e9thode similaire. Ils ajoutent certaines substances corporelles (sang, urine, salive) des patients \u00e0 une micro-puce qui va d\u00e9tecter la pr\u00e9sence de prot\u00e9ines sp\u00e9cifiques indiquant une infection. De la taille d\u2019une cl\u00e9 USB, le dispositif peut \u00eatre directement attach\u00e9 \u00e0 un smartphone. Selon l'\u00e9quipe de recherche, il faut moins d'une heure pour conna\u00eetre les r\u00e9sultats.<\/p>\n<h3>D\u00e9tection des maladies courantes<\/h3>\n<p>Les infections des voies urinaires peuvent particuli\u00e8rement \u00eatre diagnostiqu\u00e9es avec un haut degr\u00e9 de pr\u00e9cision \u00e0 partir d'\u00e9chantillons cliniques. Les scientifiques cherchent alors \u00e0 \u00e9tendre leurs recherches afin de d\u00e9tecter \u00e9galement d'autres bact\u00e9ries et virus pathog\u00e8nes dans l'organisme. Par exemple, ils \u00e9tudient la possibilit\u00e9 de d\u00e9celer les premiers signes du cancer. Cette technique est d\u00e9sormais utilis\u00e9e dans le d\u00e9pistage rapide et pr\u00e9cis de la COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Pour d\u00e9velopper sa puce, l'\u00e9quipe de recherche de <em>Labs-On-Chips<\/em> a fait appel \u00e0 des sp\u00e9cialistes ayant une formation en technologie \u00e9lectrochimique et biochimique. Des m\u00e9decins sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s dans les maladies infectieuses ont \u00e9galement particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la recherche. C\u2019est cette combinaison d\u2019expertises qui a conduit au d\u00e9veloppement de cette m\u00e9thode avanc\u00e9e. Leyla Soleymani, l'une des chercheuses est co-autrice de l\u2019article, pr\u00e9cise que cette technique diminue le risque de complications. En effet, une intervention pr\u00e9coce avec des m\u00e9dicaments permet d\u2019obtenir un r\u00e9tablissement plus rapide. Cela pr\u00e9vient \u00e9galement les \u00e9pid\u00e9mies de maladies infectieuses et r\u00e9duit l'utilisation inutile d'antibiotiques.<\/p>\n<h3>Utilisation accrue de la technologie LOC<\/h3>\n<p>Bien souvent, de tels appareils de mesure sont \u00e9labor\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019initiative de sp\u00e9cialistes des sciences de la vie et surtout d\u2019ing\u00e9nieurs. Et face \u00e0 l\u2019augmentation de la pr\u00e9cision et de la diminution des co\u00fbts de production et de d\u00e9veloppement, de plus en plus de start-ups commencent \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper ces techniques.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9cemment, des scientifiques am\u00e9ricains ont demand\u00e9 un brevet pour une puce qui d\u00e9termine le groupe sanguin des patients en quelques minutes. Ainsi, les personnes gravement bless\u00e9es pourront recevoir imm\u00e9diatement une transfusion sanguine si n\u00e9cessaire. L'ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, des chercheurs britanniques de l'<em>Imperial College<\/em> de Londres ont mis au point la puce TriSilix. Cette derni\u00e8re permet d'effectuer un test PCR avec pr\u00e9cision sur un petit appareil mobile.<\/p>\n<p>Le plus gros probl\u00e8me est la demande croissante de semi-conducteurs, notamment pour la production d'\u00e9lectronique grand public. Pendant la crise du coronavirus, de nombreuses usines ont ferm\u00e9 leurs portes et un arri\u00e9r\u00e9 logistique s'est accumul\u00e9. Cela a conduit \u00e0 une p\u00e9nurie mondiale de mat\u00e9riaux pour les objets connect\u00e9s. Le gouvernement am\u00e9ricain a promis au printemps de d\u00e9bloquer 37 milliards de dollars (31 millions d\u2019euros) pour la construction de nouvelles usines aux \u00c9tats-Unis.
