Leur nouvelle approche a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9e dans la revue scientifique Optics and Lasers in Engineering.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L'\u00e9quipe, dirig\u00e9e par le professeur en bio-ing\u00e9nierie, Ruikang Wang, a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une nouvelle m\u00e9thode d\u2019utilisation des images pour identifier les micro-organismes \u00e0 l'origine de l'acn\u00e9, des plaies qui cicatrisent mal, de la plaque dentaire et des gingivites. Selon le scientifique, ces microbes ne sont normalement pas visibles par la cam\u00e9ra d\u2019un smartphone. Ce type d\u2019appareil photo courant fonctionnent sur la base de la technologie RVB. Cela signifie que les ondes lumineuses du spectre visuel sont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es par des pixels de 3 couleurs : bleu, rouge et vert. Comme les bact\u00e9ries \u00e9mettent de nombreux autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments lumineux, elles sont plus difficiles \u00e0 d\u00e9tecter. Voil\u00e0 pourquoi les chercheurs ont travaill\u00e9 avec 15 sections du spectre visuel au lieu de 3. Cela leur a permis d\u2019obtenir un type d'image diff\u00e9rent, avec des d\u00e9tails qui n'\u00e9taient pas possibles de visualiser auparavant.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une nouvelle technique de d\u00e9pistage<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La prolif\u00e9ration et le m\u00e9tabolisme des bact\u00e9ries lib\u00e8rent des porphyrines. Ces mol\u00e9cules impliqu\u00e9es dans le transport du dioxyg\u00e8ne peuvent \u00eatre visibles par la lumi\u00e8re lorsque les bact\u00e9ries sont pr\u00e9sentes en grande quantit\u00e9 sur la peau ou dans la bouche.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Afin de pouvoir les d\u00e9celer, les chercheurs ont augment\u00e9 les capacit\u00e9s de l\u2019appareil photo d\u2019un smartphone en ajoutant \u00e0 sa cam\u00e9ra un bo\u00eetier imprim\u00e9 en 3D. Ce dernier contenait 10 petites lampes UV \u00e0 LED qui vont stimuler les porphyrines afin de les amener \u00e0 \u00e9mettre des signaux fluorescents rouges capables d\u2019\u00eatre photographi\u00e9s. D'autres micro-organismes pr\u00e9sents sur la peau ou dans la bouche refl\u00e8tent \u00e9galement cette lumi\u00e8re dans une couleur diff\u00e9rente. Ainsi, cette technique permet de d\u00e9terminer la pr\u00e9sence d'autres types de bact\u00e9ries. \u00c0 la place des porphyrines, les chercheurs pourront d\u00e9celer les diverses mol\u00e9cules lib\u00e9r\u00e9es lors du d\u00e9veloppement d'une bact\u00e9rie.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diagnostic \u00e0 domicile accessible et bon march\u00e9<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus de 2 milliards de personnes dans le monde souffrent d'un trouble cutan\u00e9 potentiel. Et malheureusement, ils ne sont pas toujours d\u00e9cel\u00e9s \u00e0 temps. Les chercheurs et les entreprises tentent de rem\u00e9dier \u00e0 ce probl\u00e8me en \u00e9laborant de nouveaux moyens abordables afin d\u2019\u00e9tablir le plus t\u00f4t possible un diagnostic. La m\u00e9thode \u00e9labor\u00e9e par les scientifiques am\u00e9ricains utilise un simple appareil photo de smartphone. Une technique r\u00e9volutionnaire qui permettrait aux personnes de savoir rapidement si elle souffre d\u2019un potentiel trouble cutan\u00e9 ou buccal. Et cela depuis chez elle avec une seule photo partag\u00e9e en ligne \u00e0 un dentiste ou un dermatologue. Cet outil serait \u00e9galement b\u00e9n\u00e9fique aux patients diab\u00e9tiques, car ils souffrent souvent de plaies chroniques qui gu\u00e9rissent lentement. C\u2019est notamment fr\u00e9quent en cas de pieds diab\u00e9tiques.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ce n'est pas la premi\u00e8re fois que les scientifiques cherchent un moyen de d\u00e9celer des maladies de la peau \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019un t\u00e9l\u00e9phone. En 2020, des chercheurs ont reli\u00e9 un dermatoscope \u00e0 l'objectif d\u2019un appareil photo d\u2019un smartphone pour diagnostiquer plus t\u00f4t certaines maladies cutan\u00e9es telles que le m\u00e9lanome et le cancer de la peau.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cette ann\u00e9e, Google va sortir un outil bas\u00e9 sur l'IA (intelligence artificielle) qui d\u00e9tecte des probl\u00e8mes de peau avec un portable. Les utilisateurs prennent 3 photos sous diff\u00e9rents angles et r\u00e9pondent \u00e0 des questions sp\u00e9cifiques et d\u00e9crivent leurs \u00e9ventuels sympt\u00f4mes.
